Experience/Remarks
I'm an English Specialist with lower sec English and English Literature teaching experience at Maris Stella High (Sec). I've a letter of commendation from the ex-school principal in recognition of dedicated service. I've also conducted enrichment classes at Ai Tong Pri and Nan Chiau Pri Sch.
I was previously with Times Publishing Limited and Educational Publishing House as senior editor, specialising in the publication of textbooks and assessment books. My work scope involved liaising with the Ministry of Education to ensure correct content of school textbooks. I've also held positions such as Public Relations Manager and Hotel Marketing Communications Manager. My vast working experience and the courses I'd taken at the National University of Singapore have instilled in me the discipline and skill to practise the use of correct English at all times.
Through the years, I've taught hundreds of students ranging from P1 to JC2. As such, I'm familiar with the requirements of the General Paper as well as with the new format of the PSLE (wef 2015) and O level (wef 2013) English exam papers. I've also taught foreign students from countries like China, Cambodia, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan and Vietnam. I find tremendous satisfaction when I see improvement in my students' results, especially when they're able to gain admission into a highly rated secondary school or junior college.
Commitment Level
As an educator with more than 10 years of private tutoring experience, I'm passionate about what I do. Teaching is a profession that I enjoy tremendously and find extremely rewarding. It's certainly a privilege to nurture young minds and help them to be the best that they can be.
My students have responded well to my method of teaching and this has greatly helped them to understand the beauty of the English Language and improve their school grades. It's my practice to provide constant feedback to parents with regards to their children's English linguistic progress too.
As I've a mature overview of life, good values and morals are important to me. I'm also responsible, meticulous, resourceful, organised and result-oriented. I believe that every student is different and will endeavour to ensure that they make good progress in their studies through productive learning.
Being a mother myself, I fully understand the challenges faced by parents in engaging good and reliable tutors for their children in this very demanding and competitive education landscape. Thus, I aspire to teach as long as I can and draw on my experience to make learning a meaningful process. It gives me great satisfaction to see my students improve academically through the years and become passionate learners in life.
