Sharon says

I have been a full-time tutor for the past 6 years and enjoy teaching one-to-one very much because it allows me to cater to the strengths and learning speed of the student. Over the years I have helped several students, whom I still keep in touch with, go from F9 to A1 and they go on to achieve distinctions at O levels. My personal belief is that every student can achieve good grades with practice, time and affirmation. My experience includes teaching at tuition centres such as KipMcGrath and AnA learning.

StarTutor's Review

Having nurtured students for the past 10 years in both full-time and part-time stints, Sharon possesses immense teaching experience. She has a strong fondness for teaching and views the profession of tutoring as not just any job but also an inlet to reach out to more students. She derives a tremendous sense of satisfaction from evoking improvements in her student’s results and seeing their morale and attitude improve gradually during the process.

Sharon has a cheerful and likable personality combined with a friendly and genial disposition which enables her to communicate with her students effortlessly. By fostering bonds with them, she is able to impart her knowledge much more efficiently. She specializes in teaching Primary and Secondary Math and English and is also adept at handling group tuition classes with up to 4 students.

Sharon employs a unique visual method of teaching especially in the area of Mathematics, she makes use of everyday objects and even special materials such as Lego blocks to illustrate mathematical concepts and models to her students in a manner which they can understand much more easily then just reading wholesale off textbooks. Lessons with Sharon are continually active and lively; she does not spoon-feed her students and instead encourages them to strive and solve the problem themselves. Doing so inculcates a strong mentality which prepares them to independently tackle difficulties in future without having to rely on teachers.

All in all, Sharon is a tutor with extraordinary amount of experience, her classes are energetic and enjoyable and her distinctive teaching style has seen all her student results improve by leaps and bounds.
