Other Qualifications

B.Eng (Chemical Engineering), 2012. National University of Singapore (NUS). 1st Class Honors. Minor in Mathematics.

I have more than nine years of experience giving tuition, having started from 2007. I specialize in Mathematics, having taught extensively at the level at both the "A" and "O" level standard.

My teaching experience includes private tuition, group tuition at tuition centers (5 years experience) and as a teaching assistant in NUS (2 years experience).

While mathematics may indeed seem daunting to many students, I feel that structured practice as well as understanding of key concepts (instead of just memorizing and regurgitating formulas) go a long way in helping them overcome and ace the subject. Having tutored the subject for many years, I have gained much insight regarding the syllabus and the common types of examination questions.

My experience through the previous change of syllabus in 2007 and my further studies in mathematics positions me very well to handle the new "A" level syllabus starting in 2016.

I have led over 40 students to their "O" and "A" level examinations with many improving from failing to As and Bs in the national examinations. (Results from 2014 cohort 6 "A"s, 2 "B"s, 1 "C").

I am heartened to receive much positive feedback from students over the years. A recent (2014) text from a student (JC2) I am particularly appreciative of "Have to thank you for putting in so much effort into teaching! I think you make a really good teacher and you should continue to teach and inspire because I honestly learnt a lot and grew to like

Commitment Level

I am currently tutoring full time while also pursing my masters at NUS (part time). Lessons are all individually tailored to each student according to ability, personality and the pace of lessons in school instead of simply using a "cookie-cutter" approach.

I look forward to not just serve as a tutor, but as a mentor to my students, helping them in all aspects of their academic life and not just the subject I am teaching, imparting my experience of going through exams and the different facets of school life when appropriate.
