Experience/Remarks

I have more than six years of experience giving tuition, having started from 2007. I specialize in Mathematics, having taught extensively at the level at both the "A" and "O" level standard. Starting 2012 I have also started to teach Chemistry and Physics.

My teaching experience includes private tuition, group tuition at a tuition center and as a teaching assistant in NUS.

While mathematics may indeed seem daunting to many students, I feel that structured practice as well as understanding of key concepts (instead of just memorizing and regurgitating formulae) go a long way in helping them overcome and ace the subject. Having tutored the subject for many years, I have gained much insight regarding the syllabus and the common types of examination questions.

My lessons take a problem-based approach as we slowly progress from simpler, more standard questions to the tougher, more unconventional ones. This strengthens the students' concepts as they acquire problem-solving and analytical skills.

I have led over 20 students to their "O" and "A" level examinations and all of them have clinched As and Bs in the national examinations.

Commitment Level

*Update (3/18) To ensure that each student gets my full attention and support, I will no longer be taking any more new assignments for 2013. I will be taking in new students for 2014 around November/December.

I am currently a full time tutor and am able to devote my time to carefully prepare for every lesson. Lessons are all individually tailored to each student according to ability, personality and the pace of lessons in school instead of simply using a "cookie-cutter" approach.

I am especially keen on teaching JC2/secondary 4 students preparing for their A or O level exams at the end of the year as lessons will then be more focused and will be geared towards a near, achievable goal.

I look forward to not just serve as a tutor, but as a mentor to my students, helping them in all aspects of their academic life and not just the subject I am teaching, imparting my experience of going through exams and the different facets of school life when appropriate.
