Experience/Remarks

I've Been teching secondary school students since my Raffles Junior College days, starting out at a girl's home where I garnered experience handling students who on the outward, appear to be rebellious and stubborn, but actually are capable of so much more. I continued teaching when I entered Medical school some might say that its too busy and packed a timetable to take students, but i beg to differ, since I enjoy teaching, I have always set aside time to help others in their studies. Of course, I gain much from this too, the gratification when my students improve trememdously, when they are ready to fly on their own to go on and achieve greater heights, the friendships I've unwittingly built up through burning the midnight oil together with them, the fun and laughter we have during our lessons. It's this interaction that drives me to continue to make time for teaching others. Grades wise, a majority of my students have demostrated dramatic improvement, even students from China who do not have a strong grasp of english, are able to build on concepts and methods to overcome this barrier and jump grades within months. I believe that besides plain hard work, it is also a great help if someone is there to nudge one in the correct direction, and thus, it is not surprising that my students improve from grades like C or D to a steady A2 or even A1.
