Other Qualifications
I am currently pursuing an external undergraduate programme for the Bachelors of Banking and Finance of London School of Economics and Political Science, while concurrently pursuing a specialist diploma in E-commerce Technology at Singapore Polytechnic and an undergraduate Bachelor of Business at Nanyang Technological University.
Experience/Remarks
I have 3.5 years of experience in tutoring Business students since polytechnic, specializing in Principles of Accounting. I have coached numerous students who have turned their grades around from Cs and Ds to B+ and above. I received the course medal in 2007 and placed top in module for various subjects such as Financial Accouting.
After graduating, I performed relief teaching at Millenia Institute for A level Accounting. This required me to comprehend both the A and O Level curriculum so as to bridge the knowledge of students who have prior accounting background in secondary school. I was pleased to discover that my students with no prior background in accounting could well manage the subject, scoring grades of above 80 marks for the first common test.
I have attempted coaching students pursing part-time external undergraduate studies from UOL in Principles of Accounting, Mathematics and Economics and was pleasantly surprised that students with no prior background managed to pass their modules after just one month of tutoring.
While I am open to teaching students from various backgrounds and levels, please understand that the nature of such modules entail different requirements and formats. As such, I will require preparatory time to peruse the course materials of individual students prior to the actual commencement of lessons.
