I have more than 2 years of teaching experience. My students are mostly upper primary and secondary students who needs help mathematics. Having struggled (and prevailed) in math during my pre-tertiary school days, I understand and can easily empathize with the struggles of my tutees. Being intimately aware of these struggles and pitfalls in the syllabus has make me a better tutor as I am better able to advise my tutees of similar problems.
I have had 1 secondary 2 student, 2 secondary 3 students and 1 secondary 4 student. I also had 2 primary5 and primary 6 students. My secondary school students have all seen significant improvement in their math after having tuition with me. My secondary 2 student even went from a fail to an A2 within 1 semester. My secondary 4 student has also seen rapid improvement, jumping 4 grades to a B3 within 1 year of having tuition with me.
My mathematics results were abysmal throughout primary school, failing more often than not but eventually I am able to attain a B for my PSLE and A1 and A for in my o'levels and A levels eventually. This struggle has gave me a unique perspective to the struggles of my tutees. This is also why I am able to provide my tutees with comprehensive notes that highlight common mistakes and pitfalls which my students have found immensely useful.
