I began my teaching career as a teaching assistant in Public Relations (PR) and the related communication modules at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2010. I received three teaching accolades from NUS in recognition of my excellent teaching practices. I taught upper secondary English Language from 2014 to 2016. Beginning in 2017, I will teach in NUS and UniSIM.
In my teaching, I strive to nurture the heart for lifelong-learning among my students. I teach with the goal of leading my students to achieve self-mastery in their pursuit for knowledge, such that they will be able to guide themselves to learn through life experiences and gain new knowledge at all stages in their lives. To help the students learn effectively, I centre my teaching on Assessment for Learning (AfL)namely the employment of effective teachers feedback and the strategic use of questioning. I believe strongly in guiding the students through their learning journeys to help them attain self-awareness of their strengths and areas for improvement, and develop their passion for field of study. In doing so, I am always ready to put in my best effort for my students.
Commitment Level I can start an assignment anytime, according to the request of the parents/student, as long as I do not have any other teaching assignments during the requested slot.
