I am an undergrad pursuing a bachelor degree in Chinese. I hope to be a teacher after I graduate hence I hope to gain experience in teaching through giving tuition.
I had given mathematics tuition previously, and I volunteer at National Library Boards KidsREAD programme meant for 7 and 8 year olds hence I have experience in conducting lesson and interacting with children. I understand that students nowadays have many commitments hence I would strive to conduct lessons in a more exciting and engaging to help students focus and get the most out of each lesson.
For different students I would use different method depending on their standards and learning style. I would start off by using school textbooks before proceeding to assessment books. Should the student learn better by consulting me on questions they have problems with, I would change my teaching style to suit their needs.
I prefer teaching Chinese as I learn more about Chinese everyday in school and hope to impart what I am learning to the younger generation. I believe that knowledge is gained when it is passed from one to another.
Commitment Level I am having my semester break. However, I will continue to teach when my school start as long as it does not clash with my lessons. During 14 - 27 June i would be going overseas.
