I scored 43 out of 45 points for my International Baccalaureate Examination, which placed me among the top 1% of the global candidates for that year. I took Chemistry, Mathematics and Economics at the Higher Level where I scored 7 points (highest achievable grade) for all 3 subjects.
I enjoy teaching and I am someone who is meticulous and tenacious about my work. In particular, Mathematics and Science have always been my strongest subjects and are subjects that I am very passionate in.
What sparked my interest and passion in teaching was when I was attached to a tuition center for a job attachment program back in Secondary 4, where I taught Mathematics to lower secondary students. I realised then that I really enjoyed teaching and helping students to excel. Additionally, I have taught Mathematics and Science to a Secondary 1 Student who was failing both subjects. He managed to pass both his subjects after 3 months of lessons with me. Also, I have two younger brothers, aged 18 and 13, who I frequently help with their school work. I regularly teach my youngest brother Mathematics and Science, and his grades have been steadily improving.
As a tutor, I work hard to ensure that my students improve and do well. I am very patient and will ensure that my students understand the underlying concepts being tested in each question before moving on, as understanding is the key to doing well. I will also identify the topics or concepts that the student is weak in and will work with them on these areas. I believe that every student has the ability to succeed, as long as they put in effort and are motivated to work hard. As a tutor, I definitely feel that it is my responsibility as well to help motivate my students and ensure that they achieve their potential.
Commitment Level I can start ASAP and will be able to do so until the end of the year.
