I would like to apply for position of English tutor, and believe that my experience in tutoring, excellent subject knowledge and studying skills will help me to do an excellent job. In particular, my passion and knowledge for studying skills will makes me stand out from the rest of the tutors.
Firstly, I have a passion towards acquiring studying skills, and my effort and dedication in studying has been recognised with the Good Progress Award from the Ministry of Education in 2008, as well as the University of Auckland Talent Fund Award, which recognises academic excellence. I am sure I will be able to impart this passion and knowledge of studying skills to students, and I believe this special passion will differentiate me from the rest of the applicants.
Secondly, I have had months of tutoring experience in English and the humanities. I have served as the director of 2 projects to tutor academically weak and unmotivated EM2 students. For both projects, I was a key person in collaborating with the teachers in order to gain insight into the students academic difficulties and reasons for lack of motivation. I held rigorous brainstorming sessions with them and my groupmates to create better ways of inspiring and educating the children. After that, I also monitored the tutors regularly to help them improve in meeting the students academic needs.
