Experience/Remarks
I have been teaching home tuition for the past 5 years, with ranging from Secondary 1 to JC2. Students come from schools like Raffles Institution, Dunman High, PLMGS, MJC, Millenia Institute, to neighbourhood secondary schools as well.
My philosophy in education lies in delivering more than academic excellence. Academic grades are more often by products of self-motivated and engaged students coupled with good learning styles and methods. As such, I impart in my students elements of both well-being and academic excellence. Towards these ends, I employ my own teaching models (S.T.E.P) framework and Character Strengths framework (A.B.C).
Testimonial from my longest tutee (4 years) - from parent Ling ling
My daughter Crystal was taught by Chin Leng since Sec 1. After she failed her first Mathematics test, I engaged him to help her. Within three months, her grade jumped from an E8 to an A1! Not only did he explain patiently from the beginning to the end, he also made sure she understood his workings. He even showed her how some of the formulas were derived from and that helped her to understand that particular topic even more.
Academics aside, Chin Leng has always motivated Crystal, encouraging and believing in her. He has given her confidence and has also inspired her to be the best that she can. He has never reprimanded or judged her, but has became her friend. He was very willing to share his stud
