I have done many formal and informal teaching. went back to my secondary school to prepare the O level batch for Mathematics(both E and A) during my JC1 year. confident and have taken 3 students before. currently teaching JC2 H2Econs, H1GP and H2Mathematics, Secondary school Maths(Both E and A), Pure Physics, Pure Chemistry and English.
My teaching style is very much altered and personalized to each of my students. I use a notebook to record down the students progress as well as their preferred teaching method based on my observations and by request. Thus, I arrange lesson plans based on each student so that they are able to benefit most out of their time spent during tuition.
Personally I do a lot of recapping so that students will not forget what has been taught before and can quickly progress to doing more practices and covering more grounds. Also, recapping is a very effective tool for retaining information in one's mind in their long-term memory. What is been taught initially is in the short term memory and practices helps to retain the theory taught but recapping helps a student trigger the thought process in recalling information taught to them for months ago and I will be able to teach them some methods of effective memorizing skills.
Other than recapping, I teach students one topic ahead of their school, so that they can gain as much as they can on NEW topics. and the surplus time, is used on practices, recapping as well as teaching of OLD topic
Commitment Level I can start ASAP and I am able to accommodate students' schedule and timeslots. All that is needed will be at least one day notification before the lesson, as I will require time to prepare the lesson material and the flow of the lesson.
