Experience/Remarks

Currently (2012), I am teaching 7 students on a one-to-one basis. 5 upper primary students (English, Mathematics, Science), 2 lower primary students (English, Mathematics). I am also teaching 2 groups of 3 upper primary students at Pertapis Children's Home (English).

I am familiar with most subjects for the current PSLE syllabus and English for the 'O' level syllabus. I put in my very best effort for every tuition assignment and will do as much as it takes to help my students improve. My tutoring assignment at Pertapis Children's Home together with another assignment which requires me to teach an upper primary child with ADHD equip me with skills necessary to handle playful students. I am also teaching an upper primary student from China, English, Mathematics and Science. Hence, I have experience teaching students who need help strengthening their foundation for these subjects.

My philosophy for teaching English is that students must understand the logic behind certain 'rules' before true learning can take place. The flexibility of the English language makes pure memory work ineffective. It is therefore my practice to explain the rationale behind these rules to my students before introducing an easier method to remember them.
