Experience/Remarks
I have about a year or two of experience teaching maths to students ranging from Pri 4 to Sec4 and most of them have achieved significant improvement in their results and learning. I am also currently under a teaching attachment in a local secondary school. As a teacher-to-be, I adopt new teaching styles with every student or class I teach in order to better customize lessons catered to the needs of different individuals. For instance, I recognize that there are students who are more visual learners and respond better to more pictorial analysis. There are also others who are weaker in understanding questions, requiring me to guide them in breaking down the questions before solving and explaining the questions in more layman terms. For students who are not too weak, I like to challenge them with additional self-sourced practice problems and guide them to be a better thinker. As for weaker students, my main approach is to target and strengthen the basis of their foundation and carefully build up other more complex skills from there. Besides all these, I believe that for the subject Math, multiple practice is crucial to fully master the concepts taught and I often urge students to also attempt practice questions on their own free time other than during tuition.
Commitment Level
I will be able to start ASAP and am available every evening except for Thursdays until August 2012. From August onwards, I will be busy on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Weekends are preferable.
