Experience/Remarks

I have six years' experience (since a student) in teaching upper secondary and junior college students. I prefer to start by working on the student's weaker concepts, drawing analogies and giving anecdotes to help with his or her understanding. I am also well-versed in answering techniques for different types of questions which would appear in examinations.

I have a strong passion in Biology and Chemistry and have devised my own methods to elucidate difficult concepts in an easier manner. I also specialize in teaching Higher Chinese and Chinese for GCE O Level standard.

I deploy the Socratic method of teaching - preferring students to ask and then answer their own questions while I guide them along the way. I believe this would be a more interactive and fulfilling experience as compared to rote learning. I also would ask students questions to make sure they thoroughly understand the concepts of the topics which they are learning.

I have great confidence in teaching the Biology and Chemistry. I also had experience as a full-time teacher at an independent secondary school in Bukit Timah, teaching Biology.
