Experience/Remarks

I have always maintained excellent academic and activity records. I have some experiences as a peer-tutor for secondary school students during the past four years. I helped a Sec 4 girl who has weak foundation in math and science to achieve level second after months of tuition.

I love teaching and helping people. I believe that helping the students to grasp the content is not the most important in tuition. Instead, my objective is to encourage the students to appreciate the joy of learning by understanding the power of knowledge and significance of studies. Thus, I think the first step as a tutor is to make friend with the tutees. Once we become friends, it will be much easier to interact and help them. Also, teaching requires patience and techniques. My teaching style is to teach students how to read notes and to distinguish and highlight the important parts which will be tested. During the first few sessions, I will do these for them. However, I will teach and expect them to underscore the essential parts by themselves. In this way, they will learn on their own. Also, doing exercises is a very good way to test how much they understand and to learn exam technique. Thus, I will assist them in how to answer the questions and how to solve similar problems.
