Experience/Remarks

I have been tutoring 2 student for close to 5 months. Both of them happen to be Seconday 3 students who needed extra help in Mathematics. I find them both having the same problem which is the lack of a good solid foundation. So, even before i dwell into all the mathematics questions with them, I asked them what's their learning methods and clarified with them their doubts, even to the extent of reteaching the chapters.

I do not believe in rote learning and I believe that understanding the things that you are dealing with is the key to doing solving future and advanced problems. Many a times, I find them getting stuck at a problem where they have done it before. Thus, I realised that they had difficulty recognising what the problem is actually asking and the skills required. Hence, in my teachings, I often highlight to them what are the key skills required in each chapter and the questions that require to the skills. I believe that studying smart and being hardworking is the key to success.

The following is my experience

Taught a sec 3 mathematics student for 3 months, from failure to C6

Taught a sec 3 mathematics student for 5 months, from failure to B4

Commitment Level

I am currently serving my national service. I usually work from 0800 to 1730 so I am available to give tuition on weekday nights and on weekends. I will be able to start asap and will be able to commit up till the end of next year, at least.

I am willing to provide support during non lesson times, like giving phone/email consultations to my students when they are stuck with a particular problem or have difficulty understanding certain areas of work.

I hoped that you can place your faith in me that I will do my best to help you or your child ( if you are a parent).

I look forward to working with you.
