Experience/Remarks

I have several teaching related experiences, which include

- A 3 months teaching programme in 2006 (JC1) where I conducted tuition to a group of Sec 4 students from a private school that were going to take their O levels. I tutored them in Math and Sciences.

- Last year from Jan-Mar, I was on a teaching attachment at Punggol Secondary, where I gained some valuable experience in classroom teaching, handling difficult students, and techniques to gather the student's attention. My work scope included preparing lessons, conducting lessons, practical and remedial, including both Express and N(A) and for all levels. Many of the skills I learnt there will be applicable in a one-to-one tuition environment as well.

- Also last Apr-Jul, I took part in the volunteer tuition programme at Anderson Secondary, tutoring a small group of 6 academically weak Sec 4 students in Mathematics every Thursday. It was heartwarming to see the students improve, despite the short time I spend with them.

- I've been tutoring for about a year now. I've received good feedback from parents and so far, all have requested to follow up their tuition this year. Currently tutoring a sec 2 and two sec 3 students in Math and Sciences (Phy/Chem/Bio).

- Tutored a Sec 4 student in A math last year. Grades improved from Fail to B3 (O lvl result) in 6 months.

Commitment Level

I can start immediately. I'm free on weekends and some weekday evenings. Should the parents request extra lessons nearing exam periods I'll always be happy to oblige, if time permits.

In addition to improving your child's exam results, I will also make it my personal responsibility to cultivate good studying habits in your child and push him towards being an independent learner, so that he/she would undertake his/her own learning in the future.
