Experience/Remarks

I am a final year NIE trainee pursuing the Bachelor of Arts (Education) course majoring in History.

I had taught in a Primary school located in the West for 8 weeks this year as part of my undergraduate training.

I am also a resident tutor of Solomon Learning Centre, which is located in Bukit Batok East.

I have 2 years of tutoring experience, which mainly comprises of primary school pupils and some secondary school students. I had also taught Conversational Chinese to two British expatriates. I have taught about 20 pupils up to date.

My forte is Mathematics in which I have many testimonials from my students. I gave one particular Primary 5 student intensive tuition in October 2005 (7 sessions in 1 week). Bryan had a 29 mark improvement for his Semestral Assessment 2, improved his grade by 2 bands and became the second best Mathematics student in his class. From being initially weak at Mathematics, he was subsequently short listed and selected for Mathematics Olympiad training by his Primary 6 form teacher. He studies at Radin Mas Primary.

Another student of mine, which is his neighbour, also benefited from my tutelage. Gerald improved his Mathematics grade after 1 month of tuition during the December holidays. His grade improved by 1 band and about 20 marks. He also became the top Mathematics student of his class for the Continual Assessment 1 examination. He also studies at Radin Mas Primary.
