Experience/Remarks
During my Year 1 of my college term, i had been selected to participate in " Needy Students Tuition Scheme". basically, i taught primary students and interacted with their parents over their children specific diffculties. overall, it's a community involvement program and i enjoyed teaching thoroughly. i strongly agree that teaching is something that benefits both the teacher and the student, and it certainly hold true for me. my experience had taught me to be sensitive towards a child's diffculties in ways that most adults are ignorant too. to state an example, a child might not benefit from mass teaching in school than what personal tutoring can do. hence, he or she might not be actually inattentive at all but actually denied the opportunity to learn at his or her own pace.
In addition to my CIP, i had also been selected in an internship at the MOE Psychological and Guidance Branch. there, i learnt about dsylexia and dyscalculia, issues that affect a child's learning abilities and limit them in acedemic aspects. hence, i find myself in a better position to understanding and teaching students with dsylexia. these students could perform as well as other, if not better, but they need to study at their own pace. this is something tuition could improve on one's acedemic abilties.
