Experience/Remarks

i have been giving home tuition to mainly primary school students and lower secondary levels for 3 years. my strong subjects are language and math and interacting with younger children. i have taught quite a number of international students Conversational Chinese and they have shown great improvements in terms of basic communication in Chinese.

My tutees became more focused in their work and they are taking the initiative in terms of clearing doubts.I believe that all students will be able to excel so long as they are willing to put in the adequate amount of effort with self-discipline. The role of a tutor is not only to teach but also to cultivate interest of the child in studying. As i am patient with my tutees and take different approaches to suit each child's need, they became less passive in learning and are more willing to go through the thinking process on their own to counter problems in their work. The ultimate goal of engaging a tutor is not to" spoon-feed" the content but to guide the students to be able to study on their own on a long term basis.

improvements in subjects should be reflected so long as the tutee shows a positive attitude and adequate amount of time everyday on revision.

Commitment Level

im able to commit as a full-time tutor until Aug,then i will have to rearrange the timing as i'll have to juggle between uni life and tuition.
