Experience/Remarks

I initially started my lessons with 4 students giving part-time tuition in the evenings and weekends about 4 yrs ago. The positive feedback given by parents and seeing my students grow led me to take on more students. Currently, i have 7 primary school students and 6 secondary school students. I have experience in tutoring 2 poly students in Engineering Maths and English to some Korean students. Current batch include Nanhua Primary, Methodist Girls School, Anglo Chinese Secondary and Catholic High Secondary students and etc.

2011 students-

S4- Last yr S3 SA1 Maths results borderline. This yr SA2 AMaths improved to 80+, EMaths 75+.

S3- Last yr Maths results failed 10/100. Retained at S3, this yr SA1 got 62/100.

P6- Last yr SA2 Eng 60+. Improvement in Composition writing and Comprehension techniques, this yr Prelim Eng 76.5marks, Maths 94marks.

2010 students-

S2- SA2 results improved to 80+ for both Maths and Science. Next yr going on to triple science stream.

P6 - P6 CA1 Maths got 30+ marks and Eng borderline passed. After 4mths tuition, prelim Maths and Eng got 60+. Shown Improvement in vocab and comprehension.

P6 - P5 SA2 Maths got 50+ marks. Current 2010 prelim results got 80+.

p6 - Tutor for student when he is in P5 and P6. P5 SA2 maths results got 80+, this year p6 prelim got 90+.

Commitment Level

Being a full-time tutor, i can focus more on my students, giving them the support they need, esp during crucial periods, before the exams.The subjects that i can teach are ENGLISH, MATHs and SCIENCE both at the upper pri and secondary level. My teaching method is to -

1) Assess and then focus on the student's weakness in the subject so that he or she can do well in less time with more understanding.

2) Assessment qns and exam papers will be used to evaluate the student's progress and give confidence to the student.

3) Proper explanation of schoolwork and questions that students encounter so as to build a solid foundation for their learning.

4) Lots of interaction during the session to make sure student understands and is able to use what i taught effectively.

Furthermore, as each student is different in their abilities, I tailor the lessons to suit them so that they can learn, grow at their pace.
