Experience/Remarks

I graduated from the National University of Singapore and I have a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. I have worked as a Senior Researcher for 7 years and a significant portion of my work involves numerous activities in school outreach and training programmes for students from secondary schools, junior colleges, polytechnics and university undergraduates. To mention a few, I am part of the Science Content Committee member involved in setting questions and judging for the National Science Challenge an annual grand challenge event for the secondary 3 level. I was also a mentor for the Gifted Education Programme by the Ministry of Education, instructing and inspiring talented secondary school students in the area of physics, mathematics and computer programming. I have also mentored and guided JC students in science and research activities. I was also train in advanced learning methods like the Tony Buzans Mind Mapping Technique. In short, I have close connection with the education system in Singapore and have been involved in training and educating students for many years while maintaining a profession in high-end research. I have also provided tuition service as a volunteer for 2 years at YOUtHOUSE, a church-driven tuition centre. The subjects I am interested in tutoring are secondary school mathematics and physics, JC level Physics and Mathematics C, Mechanical Engineering related subjects in Polytechnics. I also had experience in teaching beginners level guitar playing.
