Experience/Remarks
Through my years in Junior College and Army, I have taken park in numerous volunteer projects. In these long term volunteering projects, I tutored primary and lower primary students from low income families. These children were not doing very well in school and many of them were not confident of doing well academically. However, after my tutoring, Many of these children managed to do better and most of them improved by at least 2 grades. They have not been getting good grades for the past few examinations, and for them to make such a quantum leap, I believe it's quite a feat for both myself and the child.
I am also effectively bilingual in English and Chinese. I believe that if your child has difficulties in learning Chinese, I will be able to overcome the problem with a different approach. That was how 1 of my students managed to do well in his Chinese during PSLE.
Currently, I'm tutoring a secondary 2 child in English and Mathematics. My style of teaching is made to fit to the individual. For this child, I have sent him news clips and essays through email daily so that he will gain interest in learning English. I have confidence that this method will work.
I'm a tutor that believes in hard work. However, both tutor and tutee need to work hard. I will assure you that I will do my utmost to help the child, create new teaching methods, and going out of my way to help your child. The child though, needs to be diligent as well.
Commitment Level
