Experience/Remarks

4+ years of experience in tutoring students ranging from pri to sec schools.

Used to work as a studentcare teacher for 6 months in 2008 and did relief teaching for a while in primary schools hence very familiar with primary school syllabus.

My teaching style

School homework is a priority hence i will guide my students with their homework first. Thereafter, I will go through concepts learnt in school which my students have difficulties with. Materials used include their sch bks to review their mistakes and assessment books to strengthen understanding. Remaining time will be used to revise past topics or for students who are already able to grasp concepts well, i will teach them new topics to give them a headstart, ahead of their peers. Periodically, I will give quizzes to test their understanding.

I am not particularly strict abt the completion of my tuition hwk as I see it as a helping tool for them to revise. But it wld be good if they could at least try to read and attempt the homework as much they cld as the hwk i usually give is minimal. While my responsibility is to ensure that my students are able to understand their subjects well, the onus is still on them to take the initiative to revise and clarify with me the doubts they have.

Commitment Level

8 Jan - End of April Final uni semester but I am rather flexible with days and timings

10 May - 20 May Overseas

From June onwards I may have to schedule lessons in the evenings or weekends due to my starting of work.

Any assignment taken this year will be guaranteed a commitment till the students' year end exams. Extension till next year will depend on my upcoming work schedule hence, I could only confirm at the end of 2012.
