I am a NUS graduate, Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and I have a Diploma in Information Technology, specialized in Bio-Informatics. I can help with poly projects, and primary school tutoring.
I have six years of mentoring and coaching primary school kids in understanding math problems and have a few techniques to help them understand. Most parents wants fast results by bulldozing through assignments and tests. But most problematics kids are visual and kinesthetics, and they learn things differently.
Experience/Remarks
I am currently a second year NUS undergraduate studying at Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences with the intention of doing a major in Psychology and a minor in Information System.
I am an active member in NUS BP mentoring. I am currently mentoring students from Geylang Methodist Primary School on a weekly basics.
My highest level of qualification is Diploma in Information Technology, specializing in Bio-Informatics. I have 3 month experiences working in IBM for my Industrial Placement Projects and 3 months experiences of working in a Bio-Informatics lab to develop a Protein site prediction project. I have also done 5 major IT projects with outstanding grades, one for each semester(final semester is devoted to final year project and industrial placement project).
As part of my CCA involvements previously in my polytechnic, I was involved in the NYP Mentoring club for 3 years, giving tuitions to younger peers in various secondary schools. I have also been in the Exective Committee of the club as a School Coordinator for a year. I conducted various (study/self-improvements) workshops and outings for both Outram Secondary School and Yishun Secondary during my days as a School Coordinator.
I am currently tutoring primary 5 and 6 in my mentoring scheme and therefore is more familiar with these syllabuses.
Commitment Level
I can start as soon as possible and will be able to give tuition on everyday after 22nd June 2009
