Experience/Remarks
I have 2 years experience of teaching various Secondary level students in Mathematics and Science subjects. --------(1) Last year I taught mathematics to a Primary 6 girl. She was very scared of the subject. Though she knew the definitions and concepts, she could not solve the problems. The main reason I found out was lack of focus and confidence. So, besides strengthening her concepts, I gave her enough confidence to tackle the problems by encouragment and successful tests. She got considerably better marks in the next test. --------(2) I taught Physics and Mathematics to a JC2 student earlier this year and her grades improved considerably well. More importantly, her concepts became clearer and confidence level increased. --------(3) My next student was an English and Mathematics Secondary 4 student. She was not confident in speaking up, so I made her do a lot of speaking exercises and corrected and encouraged her through the process. She is now more comfortable with oral examination. Also, I helped her to understand abstract Mathematics concepts with ease, using real life examples and comparisons. --------(4) Currently, I am teaching English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics to 2 secondary school students.
