Experience/Remarks

My experience comes from teaching and helping my sister with her homework since young. She is currently Secondary 4, studying in Dunman High School. Since primary school, my mum has been my informal tuition teacher as she coached me with my work. As such, I feel that doing assessment books outside of school curriculum is very important.

After I've attained a certain standard in NUS High School, I decided to undertake a student for the first time. I taught him mathematics last year, when he was primary 5. Currently his mother wants me to continue tutoring him during this crucial primary 6 year. I have also taught an autistic boy, who is p5 this year, math english and science. I undertook another p3 boy and coached him in math and science before he migrated to Shanghai.

As for music, although I may not have any experience in teaching practical, I believe that the important thing is to instill the joy of making music through an instrument. I am able to teach theory as well. I have coached a friend who only had a grade 5 theory in Grade 8 theory previously and he passed.

Although I may not have that much experience as a formal tutor, but I believe that I have the qualifications as well as the patience to tutor kids. My passion is in helping people. I feel that if I have the capability to help someone improve, I will definitely do my best. As long as the student has the willingness to learn, I will teach.

Also I have recently obtained an MOE Teaching Award.

Commitment Level

Currently, I am a Lifescience major in NUS. I'm on my first semester of Year 3. I have my fridays free as well as my tuesday afternoons free and can start asap.
